Discovering the Enchantment of Rossbach, Austria

Have you ever experienced the breathtaking beauty of Rossbach in Austria? I’m currently soaking in all its wonders! Just yesterday, we embarked on an unforgettable hike through the majestic mountains. Our home base is the charming Kerchbaumer Hotel, perfectly situated for adventure. We started our day by taking the tram from Rossbach am Pass Gschütt to Hornspitz, soaring up to 1433 meters above sea level. From there, we hiked an exhilarating 12 kilometers, filled with awe-inspiring sights. Our lunch stop at the delightful Edtalalm Hut was simply perfect—we savored delicious coffee and refreshing ice cream, all while basking in the stunning scenery. The experience was beyond words; the weather was perfect, and we returned just as the first raindrops fell. But what truly captivated me was the stunning panorama. We had a clear view of Hohes Kreuz, towering at 2837 meters above sea level. The sight of Gosausee, framed by majestic mountains, was a scene straight out of a postcard, complete with grazing horses and lush greenery. Our hike took us along an exciting trail lined with towering trees, leading us down to a serene valley. Of course, that meant we had to climb back up another 300 meters to catch the tram again at Hornspitz! Today, I’m feeling pleasantly exhausted, so we’ve chosen to take it easy and enjoy a well-deserved break. I’m crossing my fingers that I don’t catch a cold because our next adventure awaits in the stunning northern landscapes of Kjerringøy, Norway, this summer.
